Klimagipfel by Klima Biennale Wien

13.–14.
Europe/Vienna
Add to calendar:

The Klimagipfel (Climate Summit) brings together actors from science, art, politics, activism and civil society at Funkhaus Wien for two days. Not a congress, not a lecture format — but keynotes, panels and participatory formats that collectively develop perspectives on the climate crisis and concrete solutions.

Three thematic blocks structure the programme: regenerative economic and food systems, climate-social urban development, and youth participation, education, rights and democracy.

Day 1 — Monday, 13 April 2026, 11:30–19:00

Doors & Registration: 11:30 | Programme starts: 12:00

Part 1: Future Cycles & Regeneration

Featuring, among others, Christoph Thun-Hohenstein, Sigrid Stagl, Emanuele Coccia, Katharina Schinner-Krendl and Karin Huber-Heim.

Part 2: Climate-Social Urban Development

Featuring, among others, Franz Essl, Verena Konrad, and curators and artists from the Klima Biennale Wien.

Day 2 — Tuesday, 14 April 2026, 09:00–15:00

Doors & Registration: 09:00 | Programme starts: 09:30

Part 3: Cultural (Climate) Education, Participation & Democracy

Featuring, among others, City Councillor Jürgen Czernohorszky, Luisa Neubauer, Camila Schmid Iglesias, Nikolaj Schultz, Amelie Klein, Katharina Mischer, Katja Schechtner, Alex Putzer, Erwin Bauer, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK and the UNICEF Austria Youth Advisory Board.

UNICEF Youth Advisory Board at the Climate Summit

UNICEF Austria brings its Youth Advisory Board — twelve young people with perspectives on sustainability, equality and participation — directly into the programme. Together with the Klima Biennale Wien, they shape their own programme segment around the question: What role can young people play in climate action?

The event is open to all interested parties. Separate registration required for Day 1 and Day 2.
