Verein08 presents.
On April 30, we celebrate theInternational Jazz Day— a global holiday initiated by UNESCO that honors the cultural significance of jazz as a unifying, cross-border art form. Launched at the initiative of pianist Herbie Hancock, this day is marked by dialogue, freedom, and musical diversity.
This special occasion is also celebrated in Vienna — at the Funkhaus, with an international formation around the VienneseGuido Spannocchi(saxophone). Together with the Italian quartet —Andrea Cagnola(guitar),Michele Andriola(drums) andFrancesco Tino(bass) — the ensemble presents a diverse program of original compositions and selected, sometimes surprising finds from the jazz repertoire.
An evening that makes the openness and complexity of jazz audible — between tradition, experiment, and international exchange.
