NeverAtHome welcomes Aika Furukawa (1982, Japan) for a residency in August 2026.

In her work she explores the impermanence of everyday life through translucent linen paintings and site-specific installations. Since 2007, her work has centred on the motif of folds: subtle, ever-changing forms that invite viewers to become more aware of the fleeting nature of daily experience.

Based in Brussels and working between Tokyo and Leipzig, Furukawa has exhibited internationally, including at the MAK Vienna, the National Art Center Tokyo, the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art and the Japanisches Kulturinstitut Köln. Her work is part of the collection of the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art.
